A mother and her son were killed instantly on Thursday evening in Mongri, Udhampur district, when a large stone struck their motorcycle. The incident occurred on a local link road, where a rock dislodged from a hillside and hit the vehicle.
Police confirmed the incident, stating they received reports around 8:45 PM that a rockfall had resulted in the immediate deaths of two motorcycle riders. The victims were identified as Raghunath, son of Badru, and Shanu Devi, wife of Badru.
Their bodies have been transported to the Primary Sub Centre (PSC) Mongri. Udhampur police have opened an investigation into the incident.
