In a crackdown on illegal fuel hoarding and sale, Samba police nabbed three individuals operating from Duggar Haveli, Nanke Chak. Kapil Kumar, the ring leader, ran a tyre puncture repair shop as a front for his six-month diesel smuggling operation.
Acting on a tip, police, along with an Executive Magistrate, apprehended Kumar and his accomplices, Pawan Kumar and Ritikh Kumar, in the act of illegally selling diesel from a temporary kiosk. A truck used to stockpile the fuel was also seized at the scene.
All three individuals, hailing from Mangu Chak (Kapil), Kotli Gujjran Gurdaspur (Pawan), and Chak Manga, Rakwal (Ritikh), have been booked under relevant sections of the law (FIR number 24/2024) registered at Police Station Samba. Further investigation is underway.
