The Kashmir Tourism Department is implementing new rules to manage the surge of visitors to Gulmarg on weekends. School buses from the Kashmir Division will no longer be allowed entry on Saturdays and Sundays.
Schools are encouraged to plan their educational trips to Gulmarg on weekdays instead. To ensure a smooth experience, schools must obtain permission from the Gulmarg Development Authority at least a week in advance. Permission requests can be submitted via email (gulmarggda@gmail.com) or phone (9622500725).
The advisory emphasizes the limited parking space and potential for congestion caused by a large number of buses. Schools are advised to limit their trips to a maximum of four buses each.
Additionally, the advisory reminds everyone that Gulmarg is an environmentally sensitive area. Littering and using plastic/polythene bags are strictly prohibited.
