Security forces successfully neutralized a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Langate area of Kupwara district, north Kashmir, on Wednesday.
The IED was detected by a joint team of police and army personnel during a routine patrol in the Baramulla-Handwara region early that morning.
A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was promptly dispatched to the site to examine the device.
The suspected IED was subsequently destroyed through a controlled explosion, ensuring no damage to surrounding areas.
As a precautionary measure, traffic movement along the affected road was temporarily halted and resumed shortly after the successful neutralization of the device, a police official confirmed.
This incident follows the defusal of another IED by security forces in the Pattan area of Baramulla district on Tuesday morning.
