Security forces in Shrakwara apprehended Imran Ahmed Ganaie, an overground worker (OGW) linked to the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), during a routine check at a mobile vehicle checkpoint. Ganaie, a resident of Nowpora Wagoora in Kreeri, attempted to flee but was swiftly detained.
Authorities recovered a 9mm Chinese pistol, a magazine, nine pistol rounds, and a mobile phone from Ganaie. A case (FIR No. 127/2023) has been registered against him under various sections of the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and an investigation is underway.
