In a successful operation on Saturday, security forces discovered a terrorist hideout in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Acting on a tip-off about a hideout in the Mahore sub-division, a joint search operation was launched by police and army personnel in the Lancha area.
The search proved fruitful, leading to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition. The seized items included:
- A tiffin box rigged as an IED with two electric detonators
- Two pistols with two magazines and 19 rounds of ammunition
- 400 grams of explosive powder
- 40 rounds of AK-47 ammunition
- Pictures depicting the Line of Control (LoC)
- Ammunition for a sixer pistol
- An additional electric detonator
- Batteries, wires, rope, a steel plate, and other bomb-making materials
- A bag and torn bedsheets
The Senior Superintendent of Police for Reasi, Mohita Sharma, confirmed that the joint operation with the army is ongoing in the Mahore area. Security forces remain committed to thwarting any attempts by anti-national elements to disrupt peace in the region.
