Seven Arrested as J&K Police Thwart Terror Plot in Budgam

Authorities in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, have apprehended seven individuals suspected of involvement in spreading anti-national propaganda. The group is accused of affixing provocative posters in the Beerwah area.

Officials identified the individuals as Romain Rasool Sheikh, Irfan Nazir Sheikh, Rizwan Nazir Sheikh, Sahil Javid Sheikh, Jahangir Bashir Mir, Tariq Ashraf Sheikh, and Shakir Lateef Pathan. Investigations suggest that Romain Rasool Sheikh and Irfan Nazir Sheikh played leading roles in the group, allegedly motivated by handlers affiliated with the Pakistani militant organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). They are believed to have instructed the other five individuals to carry out the poster campaign.

Incriminating materials were reportedly recovered during the operation. The specific nature of the propaganda and the details of the investigation remain undisclosed at this time.
