The State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids at multiple locations in Poonch district on Sunday morning in connection with a narco case. The raids were conducted at the house of drug peddler Rafiq Lala, who was arrested four months back.
The SIA team recovered a heroin-like substance and a sharp-edged weapon from Lala’s possession. He has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic (NDPS) Act.
Earlier in June, Poonch Police arrested another narcotic peddler, Mohd Zahir aka Urf Pitti, from Gohlad, Mendhar. He was found in possession of heroin-like substance and a sharp-edged weapon.
Poonch Police has appealed to all citizens of the area to be wary of the drug menace and report any incident to the police. They have assured that their identity will be kept confidential.
