While acknowledging the positive atmosphere in Kashmir, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, head of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps, emphasized the need for continued efforts to achieve lasting peace and prosperity. During the inauguration of General Bipin Rawat Stadium in Baramulla, he told reporters, “The situation is good, but there’s still some distance to cover before we can say all is fully secure.”
Ghai commended the collaboration between the Army, state administration, and J&K Police in curbing narcotics smuggling from across the border. “We’re taking strong measures to address this critical issue,” he stated.
The stadium inauguration held special significance for Ghai. He called it a “big day” not only for Jammu and Kashmir but for the entire nation, honoring the legacy of General Bipin Rawat. “He was not just the commander of the 19 Infantry Division Baramulla, but also holds a special place in the hearts of the people here,” he said.
