“Sopore Police, continuing their anti-drug efforts, arrested a drug peddler and seized contraband.
A police patrol from Police Post Fruit Mandi, led by IC PSI Rashid Khan, under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore Insp. Ayaz Gellani, apprehended Shakir Ahmad Khan (S/O Ghulam Nabi Khan, R/O Reban) during a patrol in Reban.
Officers recovered 103 grams of charas from his possession.
A case (FIR No. 44/2025) has been registered at Police Station Sopore under relevant legal provisions, and an investigation is underway.
Sopore Police encourages the public to report drug-related or other criminal activities to their nearest police station or by dialing 112.
The police request public cooperation in eliminating drug abuse and assure community members that they will take strict legal action against offenders.”
