In a bid to empower farmers, authorities have equipped south Kashmir’s Kulgam district with a cutting-edge weather station. Located at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Pombai, this high-tech tool forms part of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and aims to bridge the information gap for the agricultural community.
“The primary focus of this weather station is to benefit our farmers,” declared Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Pombai Kulgam. He elaborated on the station’s diverse capabilities, highlighting its ability to provide real-time data on crucial factors like wind direction and speed, temperature, humidity, soil temperature and moisture, solar radiation and intensity, and even insights into potential pest activity.
