Traffic movement on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway was disrupted on October 19, 2023, after a landslide at Shalgri in Banihal area. The landslide caused an acute congestion between Ramban and Banihal, as well as delays due to an accident at Nachlana, the breakdown of trucks, and the movement of deras.
Commuters were urged to follow lane discipline and plan their journey accordingly.
Men and machinery were on the job to clear the debris of the landslide, and the highway was reopened to traffic later in the day.
