There’s no need to worry about essential supplies in Kashmir, folks! Divisional Commissioner V K Bidhuri assured everyone on Monday that there’s plenty of petrol, diesel, LPG, and food grains available in the Valley.
Speaking with reporters in Srinagar, Bidhuri emphasized that there’s a comfortable stock of food grains, with reserves that could last for over a year.
“When it comes to LPG, we’re also in a good position,” he stated. “We have enough in advance, with about seventeen days’ worth of supply, which is more than sufficient.”
Addressing the fuel situation, the Divisional Commissioner explained that Kashmir uses around 1,000 kilolitres of diesel each day, and currently, there’s 12,500 kilolitres in stock. That’s enough to cover 12 to 13 days, even with the temporary closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Regarding petrol, he noted that the daily consumption is about 625 kilolitres, and the region currently holds nearly 10,000 kilolitres.
“So, there’s absolutely no reason to rush to petrol pumps or get worried,” Bidhuri reassured the public. “The situation is normal and completely under control.” He urged everyone to avoid hoarding and not give in to unnecessary fear.
