Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir – In a significant operation, alert Indian Army troops successfully foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district on Wednesday, killing two heavily-armed terrorists believed to be members of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
The terrorists were neutralized in a fierce gunfight during an operation codenamed ‘ShivShakti’. This successful action marks a major setback to Pakistan-sponsored terrorist organizations and their continuous attempts to abet acts of terror in Jammu and Kashmir, according to Army officials.
This encounter follows closely on the heels of another successful operation two days prior, where security forces eliminated three terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in a forest in Srinagar.
