Jammu and Kashmir has seen a record number of tourists this year, with over 1.27 crore visitors so far.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the number of tourists is expected to cross last year’s record by the end of the year. He attributed the increase in tourist arrivals to the peaceful atmosphere in the region.
Sinha said that the administration is working to improve tourist infrastructure in the UT. He also announced that a full-fledged center of Kashmir University will be set up in Budgam district.
The LG said that so far, 30,000 youth have been given jobs in a transparent manner. He added that the recruitment process will start again in September this year.
