On April 29, 2025, Police in Udhampur received a complaint from Parshotam Kumar, son of Ashanand and resident of Ballian, Udhampur. The complaint stated that unknown thieves had broken the lock of the main gate of the Bagla Mukhi Mandir in Udhampur and stolen silver idols and cash from the donation box.
In response, a case FIR No. 145/2025 was registered at PS Udhampur under the relevant legal sections.
A special police team, led by the SHO of PS Udhampur, was immediately formed to investigate the crime and apprehend the culprits. During the course of the investigation, the police team rounded up several suspects for questioning. One suspect, Rahul Sharma, son of Hans Raj and resident of Ward No. 17 near Santoshi Mata Mandir Udhampur, confessed to his involvement in the theft and was subsequently arrested.
Based on Rahul Sharma’s confession, the stolen property has been recovered by the police team.
Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
