A Village Defence Guard (VDG) member was injured in a shootout with suspected terrorists in Panara village, Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The VDG patrol spotted suspicious activity in a forest area and confronted the individuals.
A gunfight ensued, injuring one VDG member (identified as Mohd Sharief).
Security forces suspect the gunmen were terrorists and a search operation is underway.
