The excitement of international and domestic cricket continues in India. Recently, the Duleep Trophy was held, which India A won, and now the Ranji Trophy season is set to begin on October 11. Jammu and Kashmir has released the list of 15 players selected for the squad, which includes fast bowler Umran Malik. After battling injuries for some time, he is now fit and ready to showcase his talent in the Ranji Trophy.

The right-arm bowler has been away from the field for quite a while. After the recent IPL season, Umran suffered an injury, but he was selected for the Duleep Trophy. Unfortunately, just days before the tournament, he contracted dengue and could not play at all. Now, Umran is gearing up for a comeback through the Ranji Trophy and aims to impress selectors for a return to Team India. He last played in the Ranji Trophy during February of the previous season, and has participated in 12 first-class matches, claiming 16 wickets.

The captaincy of Jammu and Kashmir has been entrusted to Paras Dogra. Rasikh Salam, who hasn’t played first-class cricket in the last five years, has also received a chance. He recently performed impressively in IPL 2024 for the Delhi Capitals. Abdul Samad is also part of the squad, reflecting Jammu and Kashmir’s effort to form a balanced team.
