160 Battalion, CRPF, Nagrota (Jammu) organized a Volleyball Competition at BCS Camp, Nagrota under Civic Action Program. 03 teams of Nagrota area – Dhok Wolf Pack, Super Kings, Thanda Pani Kings, Nagrota Tigers, Sky Drivers, Black Panthers, Team Chak Rakhwala and Jagti Tigers participated in this competition which started on 12/04/2024. The players of all the teams displayed their talent in the competition with full zeal and enthusiasm. The final match of the competition which was conducted on knock out basis was played on 20/04/2024 between Dhok Wolf Pack and Team Chak Rakhwala, in which Team Chak Rakhwala emerged victorious in a thrilling match. The winning and runner-up teams were honored with trophies and appropriate cash prizes along with volleyball kits. Along with this, the teams that finished third and fourth were also honored with cash prizes and volleyballs to boost their morale. Also, the players selected as Man of the Match for each match were encouraged by giving them trophies as well as cash prizes. During the closing ceremony of the competition, Shri Hariom Khare, Commandant 160 Battalion informed that the Central Reserve Police Force, which is the main pillar of the internal security of the country, organizes such competitions from time to time under the Civic Action Program to increase the interest of regional youth towards sports and to encourage sports talents. Earlier also in the month of February, 2024, a cricket competition was organized by 160 Battalion in Khel Gaon, Nagarota. In that too, the youth of this area participated enthusiastically. He further informed that such competitions will continue to be organized in future as well so that the youth will not only get an opportunity to move forward by joining sports but will also be saved from many evils spread in the society and will help in realizing the vision of a clean, safe and developed society. On the occasion of the closing of the competition, Shri Raman Singh Wazir, Sarpanch Dhok Wazir, along with Shri Ajay Wadhera, Coach and Shri Naresh, Volleyball Coach from Khel Gaon premises were also present.
