Jammu and Kashmir – A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held on Saturday at the Satwari military station to honor Agniveer Lalit Kumar, 20, of the 7 JAT Regiment, who tragically lost his life in a landmine explosion in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district the day prior.
Major General Shailendra Singh, Chief of Staff, White Knight Corps, led the tribute, with Superintendent of Police (city south) Ajay Sharma and other civil officers also in attendance to pay their respects.
Agniveer Kumar was on an area domination patrol in the general area of Krishna Ghati Brigade on Friday when the blast occurred. Two other soldiers were injured in the incident.
Following the ceremony, Kumar’s mortal remains were transported to his hometown of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, for his final rites.
