In a major operation at the Lakhanpur dispatch point, Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, police intercepted a vehicle (HR98J-9889) traveling from Punjab. During the search, officers discovered ₹3.36 crore in cash. The individuals in the vehicle, identified as Fahad Yousuf and Fahad Wani, both from Srinagar, were immediately detained.
The operation, led by SHO Lakhanpur, Inspector Tribhawan Khajuria, was conducted under the supervision of senior officers including Addl. SP Kathua Rahul Charak, DySP DAR Kathua Subash Chander, and SSP Kathua Shobhit Saksena. A magistrate was present during the seizure, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal procedures.
The recovered cash, the vehicle, and the detained individuals have been handed over to the Income Tax Department for further investigation. This successful operation underscores the Kathua Police’s commitment to curbing illegal financial activities and upholding tax laws.
