Chief Minister Omar Abdullah declared that Jammu and Kashmir is emerging from a period of difficulty and is poised to regain its status as a premier Indian tourism destination. Speaking at the inauguration of the SATTE exhibition in Yashobhumi, he extended a global invitation to experience the region’s diverse offerings.
Abdullah emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir offers more than its renowned tourist spots like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and religious sites such as Mata Vaishno Devi and Amarnath. He highlighted the region’s appeal to various travelers, including holidaymakers, adventure enthusiasts, and social media influencers.
He attributed the past challenges to a period of instability, but stressed that the region is now experiencing a resurgence in both domestic and international tourism, despite ongoing travel advisories. Abdullah referenced the famous Persian poet Amir Khusrau’s praise of Kashmir’s beauty, acknowledging the region’s historical and cultural significance.
