17.5g Heroin Recovered, Drug Peddler Arrested in Pulwama

In a continued effort to combat drug trafficking, Pulwama Police have arrested an individual and seized a quantity of psychotropic substances.

Officers from Police Station Litter, conducting a routine checkpoint operation at SIDCO Lassipora Crossing near Shah Hotel, intercepted a suspect who attempted to evade apprehension. The individual was successfully detained.

A subsequent search of the suspect resulted in the recovery of 17.50 grams of a heroin-like substance. The arrested individual has been identified as Sahil Rashid Sheikh, son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh, a resident of Tumlahal.

A case, FIR No. 38/25, has been registered under section 8/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Litter, and an investigation is underway.

The Pulwama Police encourage the public to actively participate in the fight against drug abuse and to report any suspected drug-related activity to their nearest police station or to the Police Control Room (PCR) Pulwama.
