29 Dead in Himachal Pradesh Rains, Nine in Shimla Landslides

Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh have caused widespread damage, killing at least 29 people and leaving several others missing.
In Shimla, nine people were killed when a temple collapsed and another landslide buried several houses. Up to 15 people are feared trapped in the debris.
In Solan district, seven members of a family were killed in a cloudburst. Two houses were washed away and six people were rescued.
In Balera panchayat of Solan district, two children died when their makeshift house collapsed in a landslide. The body of one of the children has been recovered. Another woman died in a landslide in Banal village of Ramsheher tehsil.
In Hamirpur district, three people have died and two are missing due to the rains.
In Mandi district, seven members of a family, including a two-year-old, were killed in a landslide. Three people were rescued.
The rains have also caused widespread damage to roads and bridges. Several areas have been cut off from the rest of the state.
The government has deployed rescue teams to the affected areas and is providing relief to the victims.
The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to take precautions and avoid going out unnecessarily.
The rains are expected to continue for the next few days and the government has warned of more landslides and flooding.
