The Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully stopped an attempt to smuggle cows on Saturday in the Ponichak area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Domana Police Station. Five bovines were rescued, and a Mahindra Bolero pickup truck (JK19A-2928) used in the smuggling attempt was seized.
The operation was carried out by a team from the Ponichak Police Post led by ICPP Ponichak PSI Vijay Kumar, under the supervision of the SHO Domana. The driver of the vehicle abandoned it and fled the scene when intercepted in the Seora area.
A case has been registered at Domana Police Station under relevant sections of the law, and the investigation is ongoing.
