J&K Govt Forms Committee to Verify Service Records of Employees

The Jammu and Kashmir government has formed a committee to verify the service records of employees who are registered on the J&K Human Resource Management System (JKHRMS) but do not have their initial appointment orders.

The committee, which is headed by the Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance Department, will scrutinize and verify the entries recorded in the service books of these employees. It will also look at other supporting or ancillary records that may be available with the departments and their subordinate offices to establish the genuineness and veracity of the service records.

The committee will prioritize the examination of cases of employees who may have retired on superannuation in the intervening period. Once it has established the genuineness of the records, it will make appropriate recommendations to the concerned administrative departments for the release of salaries to these employees.

In cases where the genuineness of the service records cannot be established beyond reasonable doubt, the committee will make specific recommendations to the General Administration Department within one month of the issuance of this order.

The other members of the committee include the Director General, Accounts & Treasuries, Finance Department; a representative of the General Administration Department; a representative of the Department of Archives, Records & Information Management; and a representative of the Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs.

The committee will be serviced by the General Administration Department.

The formation of this committee is a welcome step as it will help to ensure that the service records of all employees are properly verified. This will help to protect the interests of employees and ensure that they are paid their salaries correctly.
