J&K: MeT predicts rains and drop in temperature

The weatherman forecast widespread intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir from October 14-18.

The official said that the weather will be mainly clear in the next 24 hours and on October 13. However, it will become partly cloudy towards evening with the possibility of rain/snow over higher reaches at scattered places in J&K.

From October 14-18, there is a 75% chance of widespread intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall over higher reaches. The temperature is also expected to drop significantly during these days.

The weatherman department has urged farmers to postpone harvesting of crops from October 14-18 and warned that there may be temporary disruption of transportation especially at vulnerable places like Zojila, Mugal Road, Sinthantop, Sadnatop etc.

In short, it is likely to rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir from October 14-18. The temperature is also expected to drop significantly. Farmers are advised to postpone harvesting of crops and travelers are warned of possible disruption of transportation.
