Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir – Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the National Conference, today reiterated his strong demand for the immediate restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood. Speaking to reporters in Budgam, where he visited the Aga family to offer condolences, Dr. Abdullah asserted, “statehood is our right, not a favour.”
He emphasized that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been “deprived of their democratic and constitutional rights for far too long.” Dr. Abdullah stressed that the return to full statehood is crucial for upholding the region’s dignity and autonomy.
Calling for a swift return to democratic processes, Dr. Abdullah stated that restoring statehood is “not just a political necessity but a moral obligation that must be fulfilled without delay.”
