Udhampur Police have made a significant breakthrough in their efforts against drug trafficking, apprehending two individuals and recovering 163.61 grams of heroin.
The arrests occurred during a routine checkpoint at Chenani. Officers intercepted a Platina motorcycle, traveling from Jammu towards Ramban, that did not have a registration number. The rider was identified as Ashiq Hussain from Rajbagh, Kathua, and the pillion rider as Abdul Latief from Ragoora, Jammu.
During a search, police found 123.36 grams of heroin on the rider and 40.25 grams on the pillion rider. Both individuals were arrested at the scene.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 73/2025 at Police Station Chenani, with charges filed under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act. A thorough investigation is ongoing.
