Himachal Pradesh continues to face a severe crisis due to the ongoing 2025 monsoon, which has unleashed heavy rainfall, causing extensive damage to both human lives and critical infrastructure. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) reports that as of Tuesday, 309 roads, including National Highway 305, are blocked due to relentless landslides and flash floods. Essential services are also significantly impacted, with 236 water supply schemes and 113 distribution transformers (DTRs) currently non-functional.
