Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, announced on Wednesday that full-dress rehearsals for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations have been successfully completed throughout the Kashmir Valley.
In a statement to the media, IGP Birdi confirmed that all participating contingents took part in the rehearsals, which proceeded without incident across all districts. He highlighted the extensive security measures in place for the main event in Srinagar, including multi-tier security and advanced surveillance technology. Birdi encouraged the public to attend the celebrations to make the event a success.
Regarding a recent infiltration attempt in the Uri sector, the IGP stated that the matter is currently under investigation.
