Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari visited forward locations near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri and Kupwara sectors of Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate Dussehra with the troops deployed there.
The Air Chief Marshal’s visit continued the tradition of top Army brass and government ministers spending festivals with troops in forward areas.
During his visit, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari congratulated the soldiers on Dussehra and encouraged them. He also visited army posts along the LoC.
The Air Chief Marshal’s visit comes after a soldier was injured in sniper firing by Pakistan in the Karai sector of Kupwara district last week. Following the firing incident, the Indian Army had intensified surveillance along the border areas in the frontier district of Kupwara.
Two days ago, security forces foiled an infiltration bid along the LoC in Uri sector, killing two terrorists during the intensified surveillance.
The Air Chief Marshal’s visit to the forward locations near the LoC is a morale booster for the troops deployed there. It also demonstrates India’s commitment to defending its borders and ensuring the safety and security of its people.
