Indian para archer Sheetal Devi returned home to Jammu on Thursday after winning three medals at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China.
Devi received a warm welcome from her family and officials of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
In an interview with the press, Devi said she never thought she could achieve so much. She credited her coach for motivating her and helping her reach her full potential.
At the Asian Para Games, Devi won silver in the women’s team event, gold in the mixed team event, and gold in the women’s singles compound open event.
In the women’s singles final, Devi defeated Singapore’s Alim Nur Syahidah 144-142 in a closely fought contest.
India finished fifth in the medal tally at the Asian Para Games with 111 medals, including 29 golds, 31 silvers, and 51 bronzes. India won 55 medals in athletics alone, with 18 golds, 17 silvers, and 20 bronzes.
