Jammu, Nov 30: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha asserted that the Union Territory’s administration is fully equipped to conduct assembly elections whenever the Election Commission of India (ECI) deems it necessary.
Addressing a conference organized by Amar Ujala, LG Sinha refuted allegations made by some political leaders regarding delays in holding elections. He clarified that the decision to schedule assembly polls falls solely within the purview of the ECI.
“We have provided the ECI with all the information they requested regarding election arrangements,” Sinha stated. “I want to reiterate that the J&K administration is ready to conduct elections whenever the ECI instructs us to do so.”
Sinha also emphasized the importance of democratic processes in Jammu and Kashmir and pledged to conduct fair and transparent elections when the time comes. He further dismissed claims of his imminent departure from the Union Territory, affirming his commitment to overseeing the successful completion of the electoral process.
His remarks serve as a clear indication of the J&K administration’s readiness to facilitate assembly elections whenever the ECI deems it appropriate.
