The Amarnath Yatra is nearing a significant milestone, with over 393,000 devotees having already completed the pilgrimage. This figure is expected to surpass 400,000 within the next two days.
On Wednesday, 1,339 more pilgrims departed from Jammu for the Valley. Two escorted convoys set out early in the morning: the first, with 328 Yatris in 16 vehicles, headed for the Baltal base camp, and the second, carrying 1,017 Yatris in 42 vehicles, was destined for the Pahalgam base camp.
Many devotees are also arriving directly for the Yatra and can register on the spot at either base camp. The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), which manages the pilgrimage, is working to ensure a smooth and hardship-free experience for all.
