Another 6,064 pilgrims departed Jammu for Kashmir on Wednesday, continuing the Amarnath Yatra, with over 2.34 lakh devotees already having had ‘darshan’ in the last 13 days.
Officials reported that since the pilgrimage began on July 3, more than 2.34 lakh Yatris have completed the Amarnath Yatra. Today’s batch of 6,064 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu in two escorted convoys. The first convoy, consisting of 95 vehicles and carrying 2,471 Yatris, departed at 3:30 AM for the Baltal base camp. The second convoy, with 139 vehicles and 3,593 Yatris, left at 4:07 AM for the Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp.
The weather office has predicted widespread light to moderate rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir over the next 24 hours.
