Jammu – In preparation for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, today conducted a comprehensive review of arrangements at the Ram Temple in Purani Mandi. This temple serves as a vital hub, offering food and shelter to sadhus and sadhvis en route to the holy cave in the south Kashmir Himalayas.
During his visit, IGP Tuti meticulously inspected the temple premises, assessed security deployments, and examined access control points in and around the complex. He issued on-the-spot directives to enhance vigilance, especially during peak pilgrim movement, emphasizing the need to maintain both robust security and a welcoming atmosphere for devotees.
The IGP also reviewed the langar (community kitchen) arrangements, engaging with volunteers and organizers and commending their tireless efforts in ensuring smooth operations. In a noteworthy gesture, he actively participated in the langar service, distributing food and sharing a meal with pilgrims to personally assess the quality of the provisions.
A police spokesperson highlighted that IGP Tuti’s interaction with devotees fostered an atmosphere of warmth and reassurance, underscoring the administration’s people-centric approach to the yatra. The IGP received briefings on deployment plans and arrangements for security, traffic regulation, and uninterrupted support for pilgrims transiting through the area.
