Amritsar Rural Police have arrested two drug traffickers and recovered six kilograms of heroin, a major blow against trans-border narco-smuggling, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav announced today.
The arrests of Gurditta alias Kalu and Captain near village Bhakna followed a specific intelligence tip-off. The duo was intercepted while transporting the high-grade heroin consignment on a motorcycle.
DGP Yadav stated that the consignment originated from Pakistan-based handlers and was intended for distribution within Punjab. Police are actively pursuing a third absconding suspect, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the full drug supply chain and its international connections. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at Police Station Gharinda, Amritsar.
