A new book titled “The Emergency Diaries – Years that Forged a Leader” by BlueKraft is set to be released this Wednesday evening by Home Minister Amit Shah. The book chronicles Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s experiences during the Emergency period (1975-1977) and his fight for democratic ideals.
Prime Minister Modi reflected on this period, calling it a “learning experience” that reaffirmed the importance of preserving India’s democratic framework. He noted that he was a young RSS pracharak at the time and gained valuable insights from people across the political spectrum during the anti-Emergency movement. Modi encouraged those who remember the “dark days” of the Emergency or whose families suffered during that time to share their experiences on social media to raise awareness among the youth.
BlueKraft Digital Foundation compiled these experiences into the book, which includes a foreword by former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, a prominent figure in the anti-Emergency movement. The publisher states that the book delves into Modi’s crucial role in the fight against the Emergency, using his first-person anecdotes and archival material. It aims to provide new insights into his formative years and how he dedicated himself to combating tyranny and promoting democracy throughout his life. “Emergency Diaries” is presented as a tribute to the resilience of those who resisted during that time, offering a rare glimpse into the early challenges that shaped Modi into a transformative leader.
