Awantipora Police Cracks Theft Case in 12 Hours

Awantipora Police have successfully solved a recent diesel theft case, arresting two individuals and recovering the stolen fuel.

The incident came to light on May 31, 2025, when Mohammed Younis Shah, a resident of Khankahbagh Pampore, reported to Police Station Pampore that diesel had been stolen from his truck (registration number JK13F-3017), which was parked outside his home.

Following the complaint, PS Pampore registered a case under FIR No. 65/2025 and launched an investigation. A police team, supervised by SHO PS Pampore Dy.SP (p) Shri Shravan Singh, utilized modern investigative techniques, including analyzing CCTV footage from various locations.

Their efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of two accused persons:

  • Happy Kumar, son of Devindar Kumar, resident of Bada Dowlatpora Pathankot, Punjab
  • Lucky Kumar, son of Devindar Kumar, resident of Bada Dowlatpora Pathankot, Punjab

Both individuals are currently in police custody at Police Station Pampore. Authorities have successfully recovered 137 liters of stolen diesel from the accused.

Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
