Baramulla Shelling Kills One, Injures Another

Cross-border shelling in the Uri area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to another.

According to officials, a shell struck a vehicle en route from Razerwani to Baramulla, near Mohura. The deceased was identified as Nargis Begum, wife of Basheer Khan and a resident of Razerwani. Another woman, Hafeeza, wife of Razeek Ahmad Khan, sustained injuries and was promptly taken to GMC Baramulla for medical treatment.

A health official at GMC Baramulla verified the fatality and the injury. This incident follows a period of sustained shelling by Pakistan across the border in various areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
