Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma convened a high-level meeting at his office to address border tensions. Attendees included the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General of Police, Director General of Intelligence, and the Additional Director General of Law and Order.
This meeting follows the interception of Pakistani drones by Indian air defense in Jaisalmer, where explosions and aerial flashes were reported. Blackouts were subsequently implemented in Bikaner and parts of Punjab, as well as in Kishtwar, Akhnoor, Samba, Jammu, Amritsar, and Jalandhar.
Prior to this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also chaired a meeting with the Director Generals of border security forces to evaluate the situation. Additionally, Amit Shah discussed airport security measures with the Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
According to a post on X by the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, Pakistan targeted military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur, which are located near the international border. The post stated that the Indian Armed Forces successfully neutralized the attack without any reported losses, employing both kinetic and non-kinetic means as per standard operating procedures.
This recent activity follows India’s Operation Sindoor, a response to the Pahalgam terror attack, where precision strikes targeted terrorist infrastructure within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
