BSF Director-General Nitin Agrawal visited the Akhnoor sector in Jammu on Wednesday to review the border domination and security situation along the International Border.
He was accompanied by the BSF’s Special Director General (Western Command) PV Rama Sastry and Inspector General (Jammu Frontier) DK Boora.
Agrawal began his visit with a briefing from Boora on all the critical aspects of security and domination on the International Border and the Line of Control. He was then briefed on the ground by sector and battalion commanders in Akhnoor.
Agrawal also visited various border outposts and witnessed the operational preparedness of field formations. He was impressed by the jawans’ professional acumen and their dedication to their duty.
Agrawal exhorted the troops to continue their excellent work in effectively dominating the border and thwarting the continuous challenges from across the border. He also praised the BSF’s civic action programmes, which have benefited the local population.
Agrawal’s visit comes at a time when the security situation along the India-Pakistan border is tense. Pakistan has been increasingly using drones to smuggle weapons and drugs into India, and has also been engaging in cross-border firing.
The BSF is playing a key role in countering these threats, and Agrawal’s visit was a sign of the force’s commitment to maintaining peace and security along the border.
