“Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and seized heroin in the Khansahib area. Officers from Police Station Khansahib established a checkpoint at Bugroo crossing. During the operation, a suspect on a Scooty (JK04 5815) attempted to evade the checkpoint but was apprehended. A search of the suspect revealed heroin. The individual, identified as Adil Showkat Khan, residing in Ompora Budgam, was arrested. The Scooty used in the offense was also seized. A case (FIR No. 38/2025) has been registered under section 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Khansahib, and an investigation is underway.”
