Following a week of significant rainfall and snowfall that caused temperatures to plummet and disrupted daily life, the weather in Kashmir Valley improved on Sunday. The Meteorological Centre Srinagar predicts dry conditions will persist until at least March 25th.
Recent Precipitation:
In the past 24 hours, the following rainfall amounts were recorded:
- Konibal: 19.5mm
- Pahalgam: 19.4mm
- Gulmarg: 16.2mm (with light snowfall)
- Kupwara: 14.2mm
- Srinagar: 11.0mm
- Qazigund: 11.0mm (with light snowfall)
- Kokernag: 9.6mm
Light snowfall was also observed in the popular tourist destinations of Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Qazigund (along the Srinagar-Jammu national highway).

- Minimum Temperatures (Saturday/Sunday Night):
- Srinagar: 4.0°C (0.3°C above normal)
- Pahalgam: -0.2°C
- Gulmarg: -3.0°C
- Qazigund: 1.4°C
- Kokernag: 1.7°C
- Excluding Qazigund and Kokernag, minimum temperatures were above seasonal norms.
- Daytime Temperatures (Saturday):
- 4°C to 12°C below normal across the valley.
- Srinagar: 5.6°C (9.5°C below normal)
