On Thursday, June 10, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his father, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, traveled on the recently inaugurated Vande Bharat train from Srinagar to Katra. They were greeted by National Conference leaders and workers upon their arrival.
Officials reported that Omar Abdullah, accompanied by his father and advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, reached the Katra railway station in the morning.
Farooq Abdullah had previously taken his first trip on the same train from Srinagar to Katra on June 10, expressing his immense satisfaction at Kashmir’s rail connectivity with the rest of the country.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6 during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, following his visit to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station.
