There was a dip in night temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, despite forecasts of mostly cloudy skies with a chance of light rain or snow starting March 21st.
Srinagar, the summer capital, recorded a low of 2.5°C, which is 2.2°C colder than normal for this time of year. Other locations saw similar drops:
- Qazigund: 2.2°C (1.4°C below normal)
- Pahalgam: -0.9°C (1.0°C below normal)
- Kupwara: 1.5°C (1.6°C below normal)
However, Gulmarg, a famous skiing resort, recorded a slightly higher minimum temperature of -1.0°C, which is 1.3°C above normal.
Jammu, the winter capital, also saw a drop, reaching a low of 14.4°C, which is 0.5°C below normal.
