CS Atal Dullo Visits Shelling Hit Border Village; Reviews Relief Measures

Chief Secretary Atal Dullo today visited Kalsian panchayat in Nowshera Tehsil, near the Line of Control (LoC), following recent cross-border shelling that damaged some houses.

During his visit to Kalsian, the Chief Secretary met with affected residents, assuring them of full administrative support. He conveyed his solidarity with the community during this difficult time and underscored the government’s dedication to their safety and well-being.

Subsequently, the Chief Secretary visited Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri. He interacted with patients, including those injured in the shelling, and instructed the Principal of GMC to ensure the provision of the best possible medical care to all patients. He also reviewed the overall operational efficiency of the medical institution.

Furthermore, the Chief Secretary assessed the availability and condition of bunkers in the border areas. He directed relevant officers to ensure the construction of new bunkers where necessary and stressed the importance of maintaining high quality standards in all construction work to protect civilian lives.

He also inquired about any challenges faced by the district administration and pledged the necessary support from higher authorities.

The Chief Secretary commended the district administration’s effective management of the situation, praising their prompt and coordinated response to the recent shelling incidents.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, briefed the Chief Secretary on the district’s civil defence preparedness. He also detailed the status of all 12 essential services, including Warden Service, Rescue, Casualty, Firefighting, Transport, Survey Committee, Supply Services, Welfare, Headquarters, Communication, Disposal, and Training Services, which were also reviewed during the meeting.

The meeting was attended by DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Tejinder Singh; SSP Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar; ADC Kotranka, Dilmir; ADC Rajouri, Chander Prakash; ACR Mohammad Jahangir; ACP, Sheraz Chouhan; Deputy Director Employment, Mohammad Nawaz; ACD, Auqil Naveed; and other senior district and sectoral officers.
