CS Atal Dulloo Pushes Forward J&K’s IT Revolution With BISAG-N

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo recently led a comprehensive review of the digital initiatives being implemented by the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) across various government departments.

Key Attendees and Purpose

The meeting saw the presence of Administrative Heads, DG Planning, Commissioner State Taxes, Director Employment, MD JKTDC, CEO JaKeGA, BISAG-N IT professionals, and representatives from other departments. The Chief Secretary’s primary objective was to assess the progress of new initiatives undertaken with BISAG-N and to set rollout dates for public usage, emphasizing that these IT measures would significantly improve citizens’ lives.

Focus on Citizen-Centric Interventions and Data Linkage

Dulloo highlighted the importance of developing dashboards for public-centric initiatives like Mission YUVA and the Sehat Mobile app. These dashboards will provide insights into public uptake, aiding in the development of future action plans. He also stressed the need to link skill development course learning with U-Dise data to track students’ trajectories and guide their career paths effectively.

Significant Progress in Digital Transformation

The review underscored substantial advancements in e-governance, agricultural development, public services, and infrastructure mapping, reaffirming Jammu & Kashmir’s dedication to digital transformation. IT Secretary Piyush Singla provided an overview of ongoing, completed, and upcoming initiatives, detailing collaboration plans with BISAG-N and the objectives behind these projects. BISAG-N then presented its project portfolio, highlighting efforts to enhance efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery.
