Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat recently led a high-level meeting to assess the administrative and logistical readiness for the deployment of paramilitary forces ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to begin on July 3.
The meeting, held at the Police Control Room, brought together senior officials from various agencies, including the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, ITBP, Telecommunication, SDRF, BSF, and SSB.
During the session, Zonal IGPs provided updates on the induction of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in both zones. Officers also detailed the administrative and logistical arrangements made for the incoming CAPF companies. Coordinating officers from the CAPF shared their feedback on the arrangements at various camping sites and transit locations, expressing satisfaction with the provisions for administration and transportation of inducted companies.
DGP Prabhat issued directives emphasizing the smooth induction of CAPF companies. He stressed that district heads must ensure proper arrangements for incoming units and their efficient deployment on the ground. Prabhat also highlighted the critical need for a high level of coordination among all forces and called for the establishment of an effective inter-agency coordination mechanism.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to ensuring the safe and successful conduct of the yatra.
